dreary - dull, boring; sorrowful, sad; causing sadness or gloom 阴郁

quaint - attratively unusual especially in old fashioned way 古怪，离奇有趣的

masquerade - pretence, to disguise oneself  假裝/伪装

curious - eagerly to know 好奇

ember - a small, glowing piece of coal or wood, as in a dying fire

surcease - an end (将）结束

entreating - requesting 邀请

scarce - rare; to avoid; to depart 珍贵的，缺乏的; 避免

thereat - at that place or time; because of

yore - long ago 悠久

obeisance - sign of obedience

mein - harm or wickedness; evil as in crime, misfortunate; appearance  弊病; 不幸，邪恶; 外表

ebony - black 黑色

decorum - dignity 礼节，端庄，礼貌

ungainly - clumsy 笨重

beguiling - charming; deluded by trickery 美丽的

marveled - something that causes wonder, admiration, or astonishment; a wonderful thing; a wonder or prodigy

ominous - spooky, portending evil or harm 不祥的

placid - pleasantly calm or peaceful 温和

seraphim - angel 天使

gaunt - thin and bony; bleak; desolate

bleak - cold and piercing 荒凉的; 惨淡的

desolate - very lonely or barren area; very sad, lonely and unhappy  凄凉的

supplant - to take place of, to replace or substitute; to take place of through tactics, force.

indigence: extreme poverty

bleach - to make something white or lighter in colour          漂白

obnoxious - something said/done by others which is annoying, offensive or objectionable 令人不快的，讨厌的

obsolete - something that isn't generally used anymore; out of date, unused; 已废弃的，陈旧的

acquaintance - known to you but not close. 相识的人

naive - having or showing an unaffected simplicity of nature and the absence of artificiality 朴实

哎，话说学的简单，英语不简单
那根本就不成正比，我们本来这周camping，早知道我也去参加了，不去考试了

可是英文跟中文不一样。英文你不讲也会记得 但是中文你一不讲就不会了。

上周跑得2600米我到现在还不行呢，跑完步，继续打室内曲棍球；足球比赛。。。杀人不见血。。。
